As we announced back in June 2006

Due to the high number of members we have and the require admin work, TWC has decided to hold off on many parts of the required work.

They include:

- Forwarders will no longer be created or updated
- Awarding any badges or medals to people signatures will no longer occur
- Division databases (excel sheets) will not be updated. Meaning boot camps and attendance will no longuer be tracked.

Like you, all members of the CoC are here to have fun but the required work is taking over.

Since that date, it was never mandatory for your Chain of Command (CoC) to edit people’s signatures to add or remove awards (medals & badges). But the CoC of all Divisions took upon themselves to continue awarding awards via signatures. Which is admirable but lots of work…

Member’s Dossier

The real objective was to have the awards appear in a member’s "Dossier".

As mentioned before, back in June 07, we announced our first wave of projects.

- Dossier: Each member would have a "Dossier" with their information including their awards.

At first, we wanted to create the Dossier from scratch. Several drafts where attempted but due to time and other real life issues, a final product never got completed. We then turned towards our contractor. But our requirements meant more $$$ then we could afford and the money we did have was put towards more important priorities.

Since then, we realised that we don’t need to create the Dossier from scratch. When you become a TW member, a profile is created with all the information we need. With the experience gained and by linking features from other projects we have completed up to now, the profile, now called Dossier has been modified to better fit our needs, including having all the medals and badges awarded to each member appear on the Dossier.

So ether you click on any member’s call sign from the rosters, the forums or even our Live Chat, the member’s Dossier will appear.

Managing Awards

If you look at your own Dossier, you should see all the badge(s) that relate to a position (DI to CoS). This is now automatically awarded when your CoC updates your Dossier.

Another automatic award will be the Arm Forces medal for members who have real life military experience which they indicated on the registration form when they first joined TW.

For all the other medals and badges, your CoC now have a special interface via the ATS.

ATS now stands for Administration Tracking System

Back in January, we announced the implementation of the ATS to track member’s attendance to practices and battles.

http://twhq.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15521

As described above, the CoC can now manage their members awards. We have many more projects we want to include in the ATS and believe it will be main administration tool for all TW.

Which is why the ATS acronym now stands for Administration Tracking System.

Benefits

- Awards will now appear in the member’s Dossier which was the intent from the beginning.

- We are cutting down the admin work for your CoC by 50%

- We constantly had to correct people's signatures because they did not respect the signature limits.

- We had people award themselves awards by adding them to their signatures and there was no way to track it.

Removing all Badges and Medals from Signatures

Now that the Dossier and Awards projects have been completed, your CoC will update your Dossier with your awards. Once this has been completed, your awards will be removed from your signatures.

The signature limits have been updated http://twhq.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=71

Special Thanks

We would like to thank TW StormShadow for completing both projects with the support of other web team members like Oritheus and DBLdeathDealer.

TW StormShadow has become a vital member of the Web Team. He first answered our call for web team members on the coders side http://twhq.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13380

He rapidly started to help us on our regular tasks such updating the rosters. Then he completed the revamp of the TW Store. http://www.twhq.org/forums/store.php

So we are happy to award him the Outstanding Volunteer Award medal
